Why Handmade Ring Slings?

If you do not want to pay the high cost of factory-made slings with the durability that babywearing requires, you may be tempted by cheap, factory-made slings.

No matter how much you save on a lower line sling, any sling made from cheap or flimsy fabric is a waste of money.
Either they do not last through your baby's developing years or they pose a danger to his or her safety.

Your baby sling should be able to hold your baby's weight and withstand the test of time. Because your baby's safety is top priority, a good baby sling is worth its weight in gold.

The obvious answer is a custom baby sling. But how do you know that the custom baby sling you purchase is durable enough, especially with the affordable prices at Peonies Baby Slings?

How We Make our Ring Slings

At Peonies Baby Slings, our number one goal is to make sure your custom ring sling is perfect for you and your baby! Your sling is handmade, according to your measurements, for a comfortable and safe fit. We use only the highest quality designer fabrics, strong enough to hold a 35 lb. child. (We never use quilting fabrics! Fabrics designed to lay on a bed will not withstand the abuse and stress that your sling will go through in its life.)

Our custom ring slings are created to last from birth through the toddler years, with beautiful designs and colors that fit your unique style and personality! Many of our designs are one-of-a-kind, ensuring that no one else has a custom ring sling exactly like yours!

We use a generous amount of our designer fabric in our ring slings, which all measure between 26-29 inches wide. Not only is there more than enough room for your child in the sling, but there is more than enough fabric to secure him or her as well.

The generous width also ensures your ultimate comfort, with the fabric spreading nicely across your back to distribute your baby's weight properly.
A proper sling should always make your baby feel lighter to hold, comfortable for both baby and the sling wearer!

The comfortable, reversible shoulder featured in our designs is perfect for breastfeeding mothers and parents who practice sling sharing. After all, Daddy needs to be able to wear the sling comfortably and safely too!

The sling wearer chooses which side to wear these versatile slings for each use, which is especially ideal for left-handed parents. Unlike most slings, the stitching is hidden from the backside! (see photo on right)

A Note About our Sling Rings: Peonies Baby Slings are made with rings designed specifically for baby slings, by a company called Slingrings. Each ring goes through numerous testing before being pronounced safe for baby slings. Read more about our sling rings...

While your custom ring sling will be made per your current measurements, we understand that your weight may fluctuate during baby's first years. Should your weight change, we will alter your sling tail panel to fit your new measurements for just a small fee. ($5 to shorten / $8 to lengthen)
