IMPORTANT NOTICE:
With great sadness as of December 16, 2009,  Peonies will be closing it's online store. Due to the growth of my other company & the birth of my 3rd child I no longer have the time to manage the boutique. I have enjoyed helping many mothers during the years we've been open and will truly miss all of you. We will no longer be accepting any orders at this time, but should you have a question about using your Peonies carrier or previous order questions please feel free to contact me.

Sincerest Regards,
Denise DiCaprio

This position is appropriate for preemies, newborns, infants & breastfeeding.

Begin with your child, tummy to tummy with you.

Secure your child's weight with your hand on your babies back and/ or bottom, and gently lift the bottom ring on your sling.

Newborn babies and smaller infants can be placed directly in the sling so that it fits them almost like a hotdog bun would. As your child gets older ,there will not be as much room for them to be completely nestled in there. However, you can let their feet dangle out the side.

You will want to make sure that the fabric is supporting them correctly however- it should completely cup the babies bottom.

You can easily get a secure fit by giving the bottom rail a good tug. The bottom of the sling should come all the way to your child's knees.

Breastfeeding is easily accomplished in this position. For more discreet nursing, you can use the extra  tail fabric of your sling or pull the top rail of your sling up to cover more of the babies head.

*Some people prefer to put the baby's head by the rings, so that the baby's head is propped up nicely. However, I prefer to put the baby's head on the opposite side, it gives me more room to nurse and I'm not worried about getting his hair caught in the rings if I need to make the sling tighter. But how you wear your sling is entirely up to you!
