Tummy to Tummy

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
With great sadness as of December 16, 2009,  Peonies will be closing it's online store. Due to the growth of my other company & the birth of my 3rd child I no longer have the time to manage the boutique. I have enjoyed helping many mothers during the years we've been open and will truly miss all of you. We will no longer be accepting any orders at this time, but should you have a question about using your Peonies carrier or previous order questions please feel free to contact me.

Sincerest Regards,

This position is appropriate for babies with good head/ neck control.

Hold your baby high up on your chest opposite the the rings. Using one hand to secure them while you take the sling body and maneuver their feet into it.

Lower your baby into the body of the sling carefully. The babies feet can be inside or outside depending on the age & development of your child. The fabric should cup the babies bottom with the fabric extending all the way to the knees.

As you continue to hold the baby high up on your chest, pull the tail of your sling up slightly and out to tighten it. Do not pull too hard, as you will move the rings down to far. Hold on to the sling and your baby as you are making adjustments. It can be tricky to get the rings where you want them in this position. Most people want the rings to land where you would pin a corsage, however everyone's body shape is different and Keep baby high and support their weight while you pull on the tail to tighten the sling. If the rings are too low, loosen your sling and begin again.

Now take the top rail and spread the body of the sling across your baby's back and shoulders.

The sling should be loose at the top right now. Find the rails of your tail and give the top rail a tug. So that baby now sits snugly beside you.

If your child's feet are hanging out, make sure that the sling body is completely cupping their bottom and that the fabric extends to their knees. Thighs slightly higher than the baby's bottom to avoid red marks on the back of your child's legs.

This is a comfortable position for many babies. For infants without neck control, take the top of the sling (top rail) and bring the fabric behind their head to support their head and neck.
